Embracing Rest
Rachel was always on the move. Her life was a carefully orchestrated balancing act—work deadlines, family obligations, and personal goals filled every minute of her schedule. Rest was something she thought she’d earn once she had done it all.
But her body had a different plan. One morning, Rachel woke up feeling completely drained. No amount of coffee or motivational pep talks could shake the heaviness in her mind and body. For the first time in years, she let herself take a step back. She canceled a few non-essential tasks, left her laptop closed, and gave herself permission to rest.
At first, she felt guilty, but as the hours passed, Rachel noticed something shift. Her energy slowly returned, her thoughts cleared, and she felt a sense of calm she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Rest wasn’t a luxury—it was the fuel she needed to keep going.
The Lesson: Rest to Recharge
Rest is not a reward; it’s a necessity. Rachel learned that slowing down doesn’t mean falling behind—it means honoring the natural rhythm of work and renewal. Resting allows us to restore our energy, clear our minds, and reconnect with ourselves.
What could you pause today to make space for rest and recovery?
Step 6 – Rest
The sixth step is Rest. This step reminds us that slowing down is essential for clarity, focus, and long-term growth.
• Focus for Week 1: Reflect on your schedule. Are you prioritizing rest, or do you see it as something to earn? This week, practice scheduling intentional rest into your day and notice how it impacts your energy.
Practical Application: Prioritizing Rest
Here are three ways to embrace rest this week:
1. Create a Restful Routine: Choose a time in your day to pause—whether it’s a short nap, a moment of stillness, or simply stepping away from your responsibilities.
2. Set Boundaries for Rest: Turn off notifications, say no to unnecessary tasks, and protect your rest time like any other commitment.
3. Reflect on the Impact: At the end of the week, write about how resting made a difference in your energy, focus, or mood.
You’re Recharging for Growth
Rest is a gift you give yourself. By allowing your body and mind the time to recover, you’re strengthening your ability to navigate challenges with focus and resilience.
This week, let rest be part of your rhythm. Slowing down isn’t falling behind—it’s preparing to move forward with clarity and strength.

Rest is a vital part of growth. By slowing down, you’re giving yourself the time and space to recharge, refocus, and show up with clarity and strength.
